July 2016: RES' CEO elect visits Minnygap

RES’ new CEO elect, Ivor Catto has visited Minnygap to see for himself the progress being made by the site team at Minnnygap.

Ivor will soon be replacing Dr Ian Mays, RES' current CEO who announced that he was retiring earlier this year. Dr Ian Mays has been CEO of RES since its beginnings in 1981 and will continue as a Non-Executive Director of the Supervisory Board which oversees the activities of all the McAlpine Family businesses, of which RES forms a part.

Ivor has spent his first three months travelling around the company’s offices and places of work to get to know its people and its culture, and then after a structured handover in September and October, will assume the role of CEO on 1 November 2016.

Commenting on the construction of Minnygap Ivor said: “I was thrilled to have the opportunity to visit Minnygap so shortly after joining RES.”

“I was hugely impressed by the professionalism of site team and in particular the consideration they have for the site neighbours and the wider community when conducting their work.”

Ivor continued:  “Minnygap has already benefited the local economy through our investment in local contractors such as Grange Quarry. I’m also looking forward to hearing about the projects supported by the community benefit fund which will start to distribute funds once the wind farm becomes operational.”
